sometimes, i wonder if i'm truly with it

i have been horrid about holidays this year. i didn't even notice the winter solstice, imbolc, the spring equinox, beltaine... summer solstice. I always notice Samhain, but only because it's our wedding anniversary. I just realized today that Lughnasadh is almost here.

I'm glad I realized it in time to make my grocery list. Boy has been looking forward to colcannon for months. I make it every so often, but he's convinced August colcannon is the best.

Maybe I'll bake some bread as a treat, too. Or make bannock.

I love holiday cooking.

I've been forgetting the holidays as well.. I missed Spring Equinox & Summer Solstice.. I would've forgotten Winter Solstice too, if I hadn't taken the time to remember. Arrg. I don't know if it's because I've been just too busy, or if I've somehow converted to the Christian Calendar again, with holidays I don't celebrate (Easter, Christmas...). Conformity.. ugh.
