i just pulled a tick off of me. she wasn't embedded when i knocked her into a glass, but i do have a tiny red spot. *sigh* it was a dog tick, so i'm not worried about lyme, i'll just keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

has anyone tried the ultrasonic pest repellers? i know sunbeam makes them. i just don't know how effective they are and i wonder if they're likely to drive ME nuts.

i can't handle some ultrasonic or subsonic frequencies well. they make me sick to my tummy, give me raging migraines, or upset my moods. i don't know if i should risk it or not, but we just have so many bugs in the house this summer.

they work

I used the sonic bug thingies at my last house, where the spiders were taking over. It cut the spider population by about 90%. There were still a few, but what a difference! I'm pretty sure the ones I have are Sunbeam. They came in a package of 4 for about $20.

I don't know if the frequency would bother you. Neither my cat or I seemed to be affected by them. But then we can both eat soy, too, so I guess that doesn't really help you much. :)

The ones I bought were advertised to get rid of bugs. I seem to recall there was a rodent version, but I'm not sure if it was the same one or a different frequency. I got them at OSH.
