yesterday, i made an orzo salad...

i put water on to boil...

then i crumbled a block of feta (probably 8oz) into a large bowl. i poured olive oil and balsamic over it, sprinkled it with salt, ground some black pepper over it, then set it aside.

in my food processor, i chopped some green onions, some parsley, and some fresh basil. i tossed these into the feta mixture and added some minced garlic and some dried oregano. i then shredded some baby spinach leaves in the food processor.

when the water came to a boil, i poured in a box of orzo pasta (16oz). when it was al dente, i drained it, ran cold water over it, then dumped the spinach into the bowl of feta and tossed the orzo on top. i mixed thoroughly and stuck it in the fridge.

it's quite good, but needs more garlic and balsamic and salt. since these are really individual tastes, i just season my own bowl. boy told me he's adding garlic (powder) and balsamic to his servings, so i guess i can season the big bowl. this is quite yummy. next time, i'll add cucumber and halve the recipe.

i also made a pasta casserole yesterday. i boiled some gemelli pasta. the sauce was started with leeks, butter, and carrots. i mixed a white cheese sauce to go over (cabot organic sharp white), mixed the leeks and carrots with the sauce, then poured it over the pasta, topped with parmesan, more cheddar, and bread crumbs. baked at 375 for half an hour.

tonight, boy steamed some red chard. we added salt, pepper, brewer's yeast, onion and garlic powders, and butter. YUM. we wanted something quick and easy.

afterward, we were still hungry (we each had two helpings of the feta-orzo salad, too), so i mixed up a bbq sauce and sauteed some field roast (tomato flavor) in it... we ate it on the bread i made in the bread machine yesterday (deluxe white, made with milk). YUM

aren't you hungry now?

today, i assembled an ikea dresser we bought a couple months ago. i put my undies, gloves, corsets/corset liners, fishnet clothing, socks, and shorts in it. this emptied two drawers in the other dresser (the corsets and liners and shorts weren't in that dresser). one drawer will be for sheets, the other will be for boy. he already has one drawer in that dresser.

the smell of the wood/varnish got to me, so i sat in the living room for awhile while boy read. chatted online for a bit, but the name server went down, so i had to occupy myself with other things, like the newspaper.

later, boy and i went outside to work on the yard. i wielded the weed whacker for awhile, but the vibration and sun and HUGE FREAKIN' SPIDERS OF DOOM got to me. i kept stumbling and dropping the weedwhacker... i was exhausted, so i came in and stumbled into the shower (was having a chemical reaction to my sweat, so getting CLEAN was a must).

i've spent most of the rest of this evening right here. i did get up to make the bbq sauce and field roast dish, but that took about five minutes.

i'm in a lot of pain. i hate this. all i did was a little weed whacking and i feel worse than i ever felt while i was an athlete... heck, i feel worse than that august day in 1991 when we were running 15 miles on country asphalt roads in 95 degree HUMID heat WHILE i was on my period from hell.

my joints hurt. this isn't a fibro thing. they aren't supposed to hurt. my whole body--except for joints--is supposed to hurt. right now, it's ALL hurting...

and itching.

damn sun.

damn sweat.

damn stupid neuro-endocrine dysfunctional-immune disorder from hell.

it's AI in the sense that i have an overactive immune system (allergies galore, chemical sensitivities, and only catch evil vicious super bugs)... they don't really know how to classify fibromyalgia and cfids. like other AI disorders, though, these are usually treated by endocrinologists and rheumatologists. my allergist helped me more than anyone else, though.

Poor Krassie :( You should go dunk yourself in a nice warm-but-not-hot bath with Aveeno in it, assuming that won't kill you.

Also, I'm coming over to your house for dinner. Mm.
