Guess where I am?
Jul. 9th, 2002 12:07 pmYeah.
New Jersey.
So, what happened?
Well, we very nearly escaped Delaware, but one of my tires decided to blow out instead.
Okay, how many of you have changed a driver's side tire on the interstate where traffic is driving about 70mph and one cannot pull too far off the road because the off-shoulder part of the highway tends slope down at a sharp downward angle?
Yes, we were on the shoulder. yes, there was at least six-eight feet between my head and the 18-wheelers zooming by--including the one which had a flat tire imminently facing stripping blow-out hell?
Anyhow, we decided to turn around before the tollbooth and get the hell back to Moorestown. I could've driven on (after finding a Merchant tire open after 8pm and getting a new tire), but boy was at his wit's end. So I was nice and went back to his parents'. We stopped at Giant on the way and bought an Amy's pizza, cereal, and a crossword puzzle book.
So... how does one simmer down after all of this?
Well, the ingredients involve godiva liqueur, creme de cacao, vodka, milk, and some ice. And an hour of MTV's All Access, followed by reminding oneself that boy is easy to seduce with a good kiss.
yes. sex makes everything better.
and my mother in law bought us four new tires (she got a good deal). apparently, ours were dry rotted (from sitting in a garage in florida for six years??) and TWO state inspection garages(including a buick garage that rotated and balanced the tires) failed to notice this in the last six months. Heck, they even LOOKED okay on the outside, takes a tire expert to know, perhaps?
Yes, we're incredibly spoiled. Yes, we're incredibly lucky (despite the car going boom on us). Yes, my in-laws are angels. And we're still going on vacation with them next week, so we'll be back up here Friday night.
I think I'll need the beach.
I bought boy a book on XML sunday, so he's been learning that this week, which is good. He's not being forced to take vacation days. :) His team is between projects, so this is what he'd be doing in the office... heck, he's doing MORE than he'd have done in the real office or his home office.
okay, time to shower and get back on the road.
...
yes, seducing boy was a wise choice.
i should remember how easy it can be. one good kiss and he's mine. bwahahahahha

Glad that you guys handled the blow out okay and that you managed to enjoy the rest of the morning. Hope your ride home is uneventful this time.
