i'm in new jersey.

the buick's AC compressor went kaput about half an hour north of charlottesville on wednesday.

*sigh*

this is something that must be repaired before driving back to virginia.

i want it repaired. driving 3+ hours on two 100-degree days with high humidity is a circle of hell i don't wish to re-experience.

but damn...

the compressor is an expensive part.

and the garages i've called so far are closed or booked through next week.

my in-laws are at the beach. we found the keys to dad's car, so we can drop our car off somewhere IF we can find a garage which will take it.

:(

i think i'll write about the king show and the joy of seeing friends some other time. right now i'm too upset to be happy.

no. the compressor is something that really should be fixed before driving home.

and this time of year, night is still 80+ degrees, sticky, and bleagh. and there are MOSQUITOES which would attack us whenever we slow down to less than 65mph (sadly, we must actually STOP when paying tolls).

Actually, the weather's supposed to stay nice the rest of the weekend through Monday. I think it's getting down to 57 tonight. Besides, if you recall I always used to do my traveling at night as much as possible when I was having anxiety problems. Much less stressful, something I bet boy wouldn't mind at all.

boy hates upsetting his schedule even more than he hates travelling long distances at night.

he hates sleeping in the car, too.

so, travelling at night for six hours, falling asleep in the car, and NOT getting to do his evening bedtime rituals of meditation-dinner-piano-bath-book-bed, would REALLY turn him into a monster butt-monkey.

i don't think so.

no. he can just start working in NJ before i'll put up with that.
