Well, crap
Dec. 19th, 2009 04:13 pmI forgot the buy birdseed. Traffic's been so crazy lately that I didn't feel like driving up 29 during normal business hours. The birds are desperately foraging, but I know they can find food. There are berries and seeds from wild plants in my yard, still exposed.
The bigger issue is that I use birdseed on our front walk for traction. And I let the birds clear the walk for me. Their body heat does a nice job of getting the last bit of snow/ice removed. If the busses are running Monday, I'll go buy 10lbs, which is less than usual, but enough to tide me over. We're not digging the cars out anytime soon and we haven't seen a plow yet. The plow will make the car situation worse, anyhow.
I had to go brush off the Dish because we lost reception. It worked for awhile, but we've lost reception again and I don't think it's from snow build up now. I wonder if there's some particularly dense weather headed this way. It's still snowing heavily. Tom's out shoveling again. He enjoys it because it keeps him warm and lets him accomplish something. As a telecommuter, he doesn't get snow days, so he's glad for the weekend timing.
I keep uploading pics to flickr:
