After investigating Google Maps, I think we'll try the southerly route this time around. So I reserved a room in Charlestown, WV, which is a much less expensive city than Pittsburgh. It's not as far from home as Pittsburgh, but if Ronan sleeps in the car once the sun goes down, we'll be able to go back to bed earlier once he gets over the hotel excitement. The last time we got in at midnight, he was bouncing on the bed until 3am.

We'll be doing the 35/I-75/33 route across Ohio. Slightly more complicated than that, but it's the gist. 35 from Nitro WV to Dayton, OH. North, over to Ft. Wayne, on up and over to Goshen. Long day, traversing Ohio is never fun. But this route is prettier than the toll road.

Shortcut: Instead of going through Nitro, take I-64 to the Teays Valley exit and go north. It'll dump you on Route 35 by the Wendy's/Biscuit World, and it's a tad shorter. :)

And you're right, the route is prettier. Let me know if you're passing through at a reasonable time, and if you have time to stop. I live very close to 35 where it hits Dayton on the East side. :)

Ah, yes, the hotel excitement. S. loves hotels and it is really hard to get him to settle down and sleep in them. Hope Ronan does OK and have a good trip!

Yep, yep, yep, on the Teay's Valley exit which is exit 39, go north or right. They have been doing road construction FOREVER there, but in April when we came through, they had the new route open, so much easier now.

When are you leaving? We will be there Wednesday.
