The WBC is coming to town to protest UVA's production of The Laramie Project.

Friday, 6:30pm, the Chapel, wear a black shirt (or so Nick passes on).

The play itself starts at 7:30. Not sure what the entry fee is.

Hmm, I just read that they'll be protesting a production of the same thing in Oakland on Friday. I didn't realize the Phelps family ever split up. I thought they sort of traveled as a monolithic group, since it's not like there are a whole whole lot of them. (But their website confirms both places.)

They're doing that again? (Surprised, since they did it... my junior year?) Honestly not my favorite play from a theatrical standpoint, but I'm shocked, since UVA's drama dept is known for doing ass-kissy old-people crap plays.

Are they doing it on political purpose... or has The Laramie Project considered a "tame" enough "gay play" that it appeals to the oooooold demographic? In the current political climate, it'd be much more hilarious to stage either half of Angels in America... ;)

*shudders* I may be lame or a coward, but I'm kind of glad I graduated so long ago. I'd be seriously creeped out/stressed out by trying to contend with WBC while dealing with school.
