Sadness

My favorite diaper is a Bumwear pocket. Dino print, green. Sure, there's some wicking around the leg gussets on overnights, so we just don't use it then. And yeah, one of the snaps (though not one I use) pulled through before I even used it. Things happen.

But this diaper is just a year old. I don't dry it in the dryer. Line-dry. The PUL has failed.

This makes me very sad. I won't be buying another Bumwear, even though they have great reviews. I've not read anything about the dino print PUL being known for failing, but this often happens in batches. It's just not worth paying for a diaper which has no lasting value. Most cloth diapers can be resold. This one is shot.

Speaking of pulling snaps, I've had the same thing happen to TWO fuzzi bunz. I'm a bit disgruntled with them at the moment, too, even though they form the bulk of my stash.

I use a dremmel to remove mis-set grommets. It requires a steady hand, but you just zap the metal in a few points and it comes right off. On a snap I'd focus on the snap side of it, since you can just dremmel it in half and remove, and then bend the prong section back with pliers or a flat head screwdriver or something. And really, there are no expensive snaps as compared to how much the cloth diapers cost- even fancy ones are like three for a dollar. Which is kinda pricey for a shirt or something, but a diaper isn't going to use more than a couple bucks worth. (and if it messes up the diaper you're just out an already messed up diaper, anyways)
