rootofnewt | Bad sewing machine, bad!

So . . . last night Tom wrangled the urchin so that I could sew.

First off, I was tired. So I didn't catch the fact that the pattern instructions were wrong until after I'd double-sewn a crotch seam.

Then I had to turn the house upside down looking for a seam ripper.

Found the seam ripper, got to work. Repinned and stitched. Then went to turn and iron the waistband. La dee da. Back to the sewing machine.

I was halfway done with the waistband for Tom's pants when the sewing machine stopped sewing and started making an ominous sound. A very unproductive grinding sound.

*sigh*

Thank god I'd bought some steam-a-seam to appliqué some onesies. But it was the sheets, not the stitch witchery tape. So i had to measure and cut and iron and press and . . . yeah. The waist and both leg hems.

Oh, well.

(Hey, stop pointing out that I have another sewing machine AND a serger. If I'm so tired I need a pattern for pajama pants, do you really think I want to sit down and re-learn how to thread machines I rarely use? And let's not foreget that those stowed-away machines are hard to get to at the moment, due to the huge amount of stuff in the way because of the rearranging and crap we're doing.)
