Ronan has outgrown all the diaper covers we have, so I just ordered some bummis whisper wraps from Nicki's Diapers. I also ordered two pail liners (PUL, washable, unlike the cheap nylon bags I bought from walmart), some snappis, and a bumware one-size pocket dipe. I had to spend enough to get free shipping, of course. ;)

I don't know if the one-size dipes will truly fit R all the way until he potty trains. I hesitate to build up a stash of them, but I'm slowly doing so. I don't know if he'll end up with super skinny thighs or a high rise or what. That said, the bumgenius one-size fit him now just fine. I'll try the bumware and see how those are. The motherease one-size is still too large for him. I suppose I can just take very good care of them and sell them if they don't seem to work for us.

He outgrew the pro-raps smalls practically at the same time he outgrew the newborn size--they really don't seem to fit up to 14lbs as they say they do (he's probably 11.5lbs or so). The bummis super whisper wrap (small) has just now become too small. I like prefolds with covers for around the house and I hate using 'sposies if I don't have to. So, I ordered the covers. His Fuzzi Buns smalls still fit just fine. And I think the bijou bamboo fleece fit, but I need covers to use fitteds.

I have [livejournal.com profile] mjhamilton's XS FBs to mail back--I just haven't had a chance to pack them up and drop them off. He wore them a couple times before he chunked up enough for the smalls. They're sitting safe and sound on the dresser.

And I still need to make some dipes, if I ever find the time to learn how to use the serger. I really should have learned how to use the damn thing *before* I gave birth. I just couldn't sit easily back then and didn't want to spend the time. Oooog. I suppose I could use my regular machine, instead.

I always subtracted 5 pounds from anything I bought for the boys when they were little. They said that you would need math as an adult, but I never believed them until I had children. subtract here, add there, that is the way of the world when it comes to kid sizes in anything.

The Wee Boy outgrows his cloth dipaers about every three months. We are now in XL sizes for most pockets and use prefolds and Bummis Snap Wraps. I have links for sites that have a trade-up option once you are done with that size (unless you want to save them for more babies *grin*).

I also like Kushies (many folks don't) for quick-need-a-diaper moments. Right now they still fit. Bumkins are also good, and I add a doubler for car trips and such.

:)

Good luck and enough new diaper fluff. If you want the links, just let me know.

Since your talking about making dipes--I ordered a Drybee to try recently, and the design would be easy to copy. They are much simpler than FBs or BGs. I like the one I have better than the FBs--the velcro type seem to fit Katie better than the snap variety. However, I don't think they (Drybees) would work well on a baby w/ skinny thighs.

Ugh, I meant "your are" or "you're", not "your."

[livejournal.com profile] ez_mo lent me her bag o'unfinished dipes, complete with a customized pattern and templates. She altered a WAHM-bought pattern (I forget which right now). It's awesome, but . . . time. Precious time.
