Ronan is two months old today. We went in for his two month well baby visit. He's 11lbs and 22 1/8 inches.

He's developmentally on track. The little stinker rolled over for the pediatrician.

I nearly slapped the doc's hand away when he tried to see how much Ronan's penis could retract. Hello! Don't touch his willy! He also gave me bullshit about how Ronan should absolutely be able to retract by the age of two and how I'd have to clean underneath. I think I'll have to hand him a pamphlet on proper care of an infant's intact penis next time.

He didn't give us too much hassle about delaying vaccinations. He pushed on HiB and PCV, which is odd. Most peds push on DTaP, it seems. Regardless, Ronan received nothing today.

Anyhow, I hope Downtown Family Medicine gets on our insurance soon. The pediatrician there is a bit more crunchy and I'd rather see him. My husband sees a GP there and is quite happy.

When Ronan wakes up, I'll take some pictures.

Oh, lucky you! Such an incredibly precious time, isn't it? I was all by my self when my son was born (his dad was working out of state) and in such bliss I used to kind of look around to see if I were about to get bustedd - surely anything so good must be a punishable offense! I think having someone there trying to tell me how to do things might have been harder.

I don't want my kids to rush into parenthood but sheesh, my son's 28 and he hasn't shown the merest indication of wanting children since he was 3, when he repeatedly let it be known that he would someday live far away in a green house and have 100 babies. (Maybe if I paint his house?)

We've been lucky, our doctor is about as crunchy as they get. He actually OWNS and runs a Holistic Center right next door to his Pediatrician practice :o

We just got Carmen's first set of vax shots at 6 months. We figure that she's had enough time to get started on her own system, and from here on out she's more likely to encounter someone with the plague now that she's getting more mobile O.o

Wow. S.'s ped has never tried to retract his foreskin and she and the folks at the hospital said we didn't even have to think about it until he was 3 or 4. They retracted it for his two catheterizations recentlty, but that was an abnormal, medically necessary situation (his need for tests involving catheterization).

Glad R. is doing well and growing well.

Yikes!! I drew up a document stating that the physician, the nurses and the NP were not permitted to attempt to retract the foreskin, when the child is old enough to do it on his own, they may *ask* him to do so, and the only person who was permitted to retract was the owner of the foreskin.

Ew! No one has ever touched my sprog's penis. Except, you know, accidentally in passing. But no doctor! Ew!!!

Pamphlet sounds like a good idea.

And ooooo! The adorability!!
