Oct. 12th, 2006 11:06 amToday is apple picking day. I don't know that I'll pick many. I really just want apple cider . . . and pretty views.
I save the bulk of my apple madness for the heirloom apples sold down at Rural Ridge. I go down there for the festival in November. Great old varieties, amazing unpasteurized cider.
Today, though, Carter's Mountain will suffice.

And I agree, nothing better.
A drink to try at some point in eight-odd months...
2 gallons cider
bottle cinnamon schnapps
bottle apple brandy
serve hot with a cinnamon stick or cool. So good!
