Summer is imminent. It was nearly 90F today. It's only May. We've been blessed with a very mild Spring thus far (and damned with a very low amount of precipitation). I do recognize that I live south of the Mason Dixon and that summers are rather . . . oppressive, but wow. I wasn't ready for this just yet.

I helped boy put together some corned beef. Right now, there are onions and carrots pressure cooking in the broth (coming up to pressure--they won't be there long). I've got new potatoes, onions, and garlic roasting with fresh herbs. Yum. I'll enjoy those with greens and beans. Boy is prepping the greens: oak leaf kale, turnips (greens and roots), beetroot greens, and collard. We'll cook those with onion and garlic, maybe some raisins. Or maybe no raisins. I haven't decided. Hrm, wonder if I have almonds?

The cake I made for boy turned out incredibly well. Yummy poppyseed pound cake.

My poodle is so incredibly happy. He's a joy to behold.

It was just as hot today in upstate NY, and humid too due to a morning thunderstorm.

It's fun to cook up a storm. Today for us was vegan chili for lunch and tonight leftover chili with cheese and avocado on a spelt tortilla. :)
