Local Adelphia cable 'net customers

We've been having net issues in the evenings. While I suspect it's a neighborhood issue, I thought I'd ask--

has anyone noticed slow/failed webpage loading between 4:30pm and midnight?
has anyone *called* Adelphia to complain/inquire?
has anyone heard any excuses from Adelphia about this?

I'll probably call soon, since it's been happening for a couple weeks. I have a feeling they've hooked a few more customers up on our street without doing any additional linework or something.

I have a friend with Adelphia, and they told her not to expect to be able to use the internet between 4pm and 10pm because of all the kids using it for school.

That sounded way outta line, to me. I'd be plenty pissed if my internet company told me THAT and still merrily charged me $39.95 (or whatever).

I recommend calling them and getting IPs for different DNS servers. We've had to do that a few times.

Yep. Tis the nature of cable to suck during peak hours, but it's been a little unreasonable of late

Exactly. I've been with them for a few years and I expect some suckage during peak, but not timing out (multiple times) on every single web page I try to load.

It's funny. We sign up for this to get high bandwidth yet the company doesnt have enough to keep up :]
