Besides, only the reserve, by request of a governer or the guard by the same can be used as a police force, marines and regular army, on the other hand, cannot, except by mandate of martial law (like when the army of New York put down the Irish Protestors in New York in 1863), now, technically, we are under martial law and have been since 1931, as it never got removed and we all got distracted by WW2, mo politician would ever try use that as an excuse.
It was all just an unfortuante coinicidence blown out of proportion by a bunch of vegan college students who prolly voted Nader in 2000.
As another point, they'd never send in the army, guard or reserve as they (LA) have the largest and best trained SWAT team and riot control cops in the world.
