I know I promised I'd go out tonight, but . . .

(of course there's a but)

I'm exhausted. My pain levels have been up. Today was gorgeous, so I worked in the yard doing a lot of stuff that would completely devastate me on a normal day. And I didn't sleep well last night. So, with the allergies on top of it all, I just don't think standing around in a smoky, noisy club is going to do me any good. I mean, I need to take a shower, but I'm fearing that the water will be too overstimulating. I'm getting old, all I want to do is get clean, get a foot rub, and go to bed. It's not even 10pm.

In other news, I ordered shampoo this week from Heritage. True to form, they tried to kill me again, by including large samples of stuff I'm deathly allergic to. So, local people (no shipping/mailing) can have these, preferably people who will not use them around me or touch me:

So:
Aura Glow, almond scent
ingredients: top quality peanut oil, olive oil, lanolin, mixed tocopherols (vitamin e oils as a natural preservative), and almond fragrance.

There is exactly *one* ingredient in there that I'm not horrifically allergic to. I doubt any of of them would kill me, but it's not staying in my house. It's meant to be used as a massage oil or lotion. 8oz bottle. Natural almond scent means it smells vaguely like cherries. If you like to make your lovers wonder about whether you're trying to poison them, go for it.

An air freshener. I have a feeling it's lavender, but I'm not opening it up to find out, especially since I'm severely allergic to lavender. It's the impregnated cardstock/paperfoam kind.

This is almost as good as the time they sent me the *lavender* scented aura glow. *rolls eyes*

Edit: Heritage wants its customers to buy *more* stuff, so they try to hook us onto things with generous free samples. Sometimes, it's cool. I like it when the free sample is a 2oz bottle of my shampoo, because I can use that for travelling or give it to friends who want to try it. But sending me rose extract, peanut oil, lavender essence, aloe juice, etc, just makes me want to stop ordering (shampoo) full stop. Thing is, their Olive Oil Shampoo, unscented, is the *only* shampoo I can use right now. There might be another somewhere out there, but I'd have to look long and hard. And I do check every new-to-me shampoo and conditioner bottle when I hit a new HFS.

Freecycle.org?

(All the heavily scented soaps I got as "goodbye" presents at the end of the school year are in a box in my trunk, waiting until we wrap Yule presents for Grandma.)

I think I am getting old too. I feel the same way today. Being happy and nice today just took so much out of me. ;p

They'll go up on freecycle *after* my friends get their pick. ;) Some of my hippie friends masquerade as goths. *giggles*

if i weren't about to hop in the tub (and if you didn't feel the same way I do), I'd suggest you come down to hang out for a bit. maybe sometime soon? my in-laws are coming this week, so i'll be straightening up the house and i enjoy chatting with friends while i do it, provided having me constantly messing with stuff doesn't annoy you. ;)

Cory's feets hurted, so we stayed in. I feel old and I'm the youngest (of the adults, anyway.) :P

I'll take the Aura Glow if'n you can stand to have it around for another week/whatever. We've just about used up that FIRST bottle you gave me. ;9

Everything in there is fine with me, but I've no tolerance for synethic smells at ALL anymore. I wish I could still find that bulk unscented conditioner we used to use... (Guess who mistakenly opened a box of incense-type stuff whilst cleaning out the recesses of the closet and nearly died for days afterward? I get the Stupid Award, yay!) My sister is trying to kill me with the Overwhelming Stink of 14 Year Old. Joy.

what is the website of this place? I have a friend with lots of allergies looking for new shampoo, oddly enough. Something that won't sting the eyes.

are they the type of place you could write and ask to refrain from sending you samples, due to allergies? or is that just too much effort for your shampoo?

I'm sorry that you weren't feeling up to The Dawning tonight. I missed you!

Maybe someday we can get tea, or do something that won't make Jos sick? I promise I'll detoxify myself so that *I* don't make you sick.

*hug* :o)

I had a feeling that was going to happen, so it didn't even phase me when you didn't show [tho it would have been great to see you guys.]

I would try the "please no samples" route with your order and see how that works. Never know.

If I ordered by phone or mail, I could do that, but there's absolutely no way to add notes to web orders. :/ I wasn't ordering at a reasonable hour, either.

Heritage (http://www.caycecures.com), it's the wacky Edgar Cayce company.

I can't do anything like that with web orders (talk about a primitive ordering system--no notes spot on the form) and I've tried writing/calling orders in and requesting no samples. They put them in anyway and suggest I give them to friends.

Annoying practice, but I need shampoo.

I should just make plans to go to Virginia Beach twice a year to buy it in person. I haven't had a good day for driving myself to go to the beach, though.

I should have you call my doctors: "Hey, she's not even coming out to the club when she KNOWS she'll love the music. She used to come even when she knew the DJs would spin EBM non-stop. Fix her. Now."

Yep, you can have it. When will I be seeing you again?
