How odd. There's nothing to watch, so we have Beavs & Butthead on (M2)... every so often, a message starts scrolling across the bottom of the screen. before long, the bottom 1/3 of the screen gets blacked out. The first time, it blacked out fairly quickly, the second time, it blacked out after most of the message played. I can't figure out if the network is trying to spread a message that dish doesn't want, or if something else is going on.

Attention Echostar/Dish Network subscribers. You may soon LOSE channels such as: BET, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, and many other channels like Nickolodeon and MTV. Call Dish network NOW at 1800 333 Dish and tell them you want these channels.

it reads something like that, anyway. quite odd. i guess it has something to do with the echostar/viacom carriage dispute?

we have directv and the same message is being scolled across the bottom of our screen and it doesnt even pertain to us....

huh, I got that message too, watching the CSI rerun on SpikeTV (on comcast). They didn't black it out, though.
