I need to call MAMSI and see how much of the TENS unit they'll cover.

I need to call Northridge to find out if they can fit me in for a psych eval before my (next) Friday appt at the insomnia clinic. (HAH!) My doctor requested this, so I'll do it. After they're done laughing at me, I'll call behavior management and cancel. I need to call my doctor's office and request some referrals (pain clinic, possibly EMG).

I also need to print out the three letters I've written to those buttmonkeys in Washington Senator Allen, Senator Warner, and Representative Goode and mail them.

As for the Zanaflex, it's not often that I come across a med which makes me feel *substatially worse* the next day. Ah, well, at least the few dreams I have are weird. I think the first night was an aberration. It seemed to work well, but I hadn't had much sleep and I wore myself out going to the appt and then walking downtown and back later that day. Today, i get to take a dose sometime during the day, and one at night. It still makes me loopy, grumpy, and sleepy, but it doesn't make me *drowsy* enough to actually fall asleep. And last night, I had a lot of inflammatory type pain (rib, foot, hips, knees, back) preventing me from sleeping.

They'll actually cover a TENS unit for you? Wow. Anthem told me it was "experimental".

I think a lot depends on diagnosis and who writes the prescription. Most insurance companies supposedly cover TENS for certain disorders. We'll see what they decide. :p

o_O You have MAMSI?!

(I'm sure I mentioned it before but that was our hell insurance for quite some time. Now we have one that fucks us over a little less, Blue Cross Blue Suck Choice HMO.)

At least my mom has Medicare as well...

yes. *sigh* it's our only affordable option right now. it's really sad that *Medicare* covers more.

I take the Zanaflex at night for FMS--it takes 3-6 weeks to work, though. I usually feel worse the first week or two with it--I've tried to stop it a couple of times, but always seems to a bad, bad idea for me. It works really well at keeping my fibro from flaring. I just wish the other stuff could stay under control. (Other stuff is Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Diease, or almost lupus)

Anyhow, better luck sleeping.

aye. unless i have super nasty adverse effects, i give the meds a fair trial.

i don't really care for the odd effects it's having on my mood/emotional state, but i know those could pass.

C has a TENS unit (he had herniated two discs in his back a few years ago), which insurance didn't cover, but worth every penny. i hope you get yours!
