some kids came to the door and offered to shovel our steps for a dollar. we told them we'd give them five if they'd do the walk to the sidewalk. They said, "oh, that's what we meant! all of it! the sidewalk, too!"

we told them we only had seven dollars on hand and they said if we didn't have much money, they'd do it for free. we told them that was okay, we could spare the seven. i think they're bored and, in general, good kids. :)

one of them is adorable and looks about six. i want to make him zip his jacket, but i realize he's probably hot. he has several layers beneath.

they're out there working. this should save boy some effort. i can go put out some salt in a bit. and we can shovel the few feet they didn't (they cleared a path to our car, which was very nice. we're responsible for about 20-30' of sidewalk, and i don't expect them to do all of it).
