*sigh*

The Elysian Fields CD we got off Ebay earlier in November arrived today with our held-for-the-holiday mail. We opened it first--so excited... I handed the CD to boy, expecting him to immediately put it in his computer to play... he laughed and said, "you might want to email them and ask them to take the CD out of their stereo next time."

The case is empty. The seller has extremely good feedback, so I've sent them a polite email about this, hoping for resolution. Ideally, I'd like the CD. If they have no way of finding it or sending it to me, I've requested reimbursement for what I paid (item price + s/h) along with reimbursement for mailing the empty case back to them, if they want it back.

I really hope it was just an oversight--that they left the CD in their stereo while testing it for playability or something, though I'm not sure how likely that is, since this is a power seller. And I hope they believe me. I have a perfect feedback rating, though it's not a huge one (less than 40... I've been on ebay several years, but I'm not a frequent bidder).

Which one?

the eponymous CD.

we have a great local-ish (VA) chain down here for new/used: Plan 9. It's a good little store.

That's never happened to me before on Ebay, but I think that it was oversight. Maybe they just put the CD in another box.

Yeah, I've always had *really good luck* with ebay... my transactions go back to August 98.

A very long time indeed. Btw, when did Ebay start up? Do you remember?

supposedly 1995, but it didn't have a *strong* web presence until sometime around 1998.
