rootofnewtthis week, i have seen lots of ice halos, including sundogs, tangential arcs, circumzenithal arcs, part of a parhelic circle, and 22deg halos. Yesterday, I watched a slim crescent moon, followed by venus, set between thin clouds and the horizon.
the "backyard" behind the development here is a wetlands conservation area... it faces roughly WSE. this makes for pretty sunsets.
