going to bed earlier has some unfortunate consequences... see, the neighbor gets up around 4 or 5 am for work... she lets her dogs out. they bark. they bark a lot. their side yard is right next to our side yard which is right next to our bedroom. we have a stereo and a hepa air purifier and i STILL hear the dogs. if i wear earplugs to bed, they fall out during the night.

so... by going to bed early, i get woken up by the damn dogs. it takes me forever to fall back to sleep. i'm tired the next day... well, more tired than usual. and there's nothing she can do. the dogs have to pee. she has to go to work. granted, she could try standing right beside them, but apparently they're toilet shy and won't go if she's right beside them. so she lets them out for five or fifteen or thirty minutes until they bark to be let in. they go out again when her son wakes up, so sometimes they bark again on weekends around 9am or so.

what does all this mean?

it means i won't be going to the dawning tonight because i'm so tired. i did do a lot today... went to the city market, walked over to county hall to see the military history production (lots of reenactors from jamestown era through korea/vietnam, plus modern national guard)... then we came home for lunch and afterward, drove over to the parkway for some overlook time. maybe i'll edit some pictures tonight. i've still got pictures to edit from the old textile mill exploration.

dammit. i really wanted to go out. i love it when

nothingoth is always good for listening as well. (they're both great for dancing, but i don't dance.)

i just have that feeling in my fascia of an imminent crash/flare/boom if i don't slow down and listen.

so i'm going to have to slow down, but i'll be damned if i listen. i'll drown it out with a DVD or something.

now... i need to go turn off the radio. Local Motive is over and the Boombox just came on. i don't care for Hip Hop.
