movies and hoarding
Sep. 16th, 2003 03:07 pmso...
i went to the video store to rent El Mariachi and Desperado. I haven't seen the first in a few years and I haven't seen the second since it was in the theaters sophomore year (college). I have to re-view them, of course, so that I can enjoy Once Upon a Time in Mexico. If anyone would like to join us for a movie night say... Friday? (if we have power) Let me know very soon so that I can start cleaning.
Anyhow. I needed cash, so I bought water at Food Lion. Rather, I tried to buy water... see, I rarely do the whole "stock up for the storm" thing. I normally *have* stores laid in. The water, however, didn't make the move. I must've used it for stuff at the old house. I have no containers suitable for water, so I decided to buy some of the large containers... Well, I tried. Food Lion's drinking water reserves were sorely depleted. They had none of the big 2.5 (or whatever) gallon boxy containers with the valve. They had some one gallon jugs. I decided to buy the Deer Park flat of drinking water in the push-top bottles. It just made more sense. I don't think I'll *NEED* this water soon, but the bottles are convenient for drinking while walking or taking to the gym. They're also good for road trips.
While I was over there, I stopped in at the dentist office in the same strip plaza. I asked the receptionist if they can handle latex allergic individuals. It turns out one of their employees is allergic, so they're *very* able to handle me. It's a cosmetic/family dentistry office, so I assume my refusal to use mercury amalgam will be a non-issue, too. They also file with insurance. YAY! I've put this off for *far* too long and I'm having problems with a couple teeth. I'm a bit scared of what the dentist will have to tell me, but I'll live. I hate dealing with educating folks sometimes, which is why I put off looking for a dentist. I had to educate my last dentist and he still screwed up somtimes, which caused some nasty reactions. This one actually keeps silicone dental dams on hand, which is quite promising. The office wasn't perfumey, either, which is a bonus.
Now I just need to coax boy into calling HR so he can find out what forms we need to provide. The receptionist isn't familiar with CSC, so she doesn't know how to file for them.
I think I'm going to go clean the bathroom. And then, if I have energy, I'll mop the kitchen floor. It's gross. Some sugar spilled or something. I hate it when my feet get dirty in my own house.
I might not have time for the kitchen floor today. I promised Indian food, so I'll need to start it soon.
Tonight, I'm going to go see Laurel Canyon. Afterwards, tea.
Tomorrow, my orthoses! YAY! Maybe I'll be able to walk comfortably!
