Sep. 2nd, 2003 12:48 pmafter waking up at 4am and stumbling about looking for painkillers, i woke up every time i rolled over. so when boy's alarm went off at 8:30, i asked him to call the doctor.
he diagnosed costochronditis. my chest sounds clean, thankfully--no sign of pericarditis, pleurisy, pneumonia, asthmatic wheezing, etc. he has no clue why i've got it right now, since i've not had a lot of coughing/sneezing, nor have i been ill. it might be related to something my body is fighting bacterial/viral in nature, it might not. he gave me something stronger than naproxen, but said i can take naproxen on top of it to sleep, if i need the extra relief. he told me to ice my sternum and, if that doesn't help, try heat.
boy drove me to/from the doctor. i went to CVS to fill my prescription and had a piece of pizza at Christian's while i was waiting. i'm home now and my cramps (menstrual--at least my period waited til *after* the wedding) have hit.
i still want to go see Hoven Droven... we might leave at 4 and catch most of their set. i'm not feeling up to leaving, but i desperately want to see them. they don't come to the US that often.

Date: 2003-09-02 10:01 am (UTC)Costochondritis isn't uncommon in folks with RA. I wouldn't be surprised if folks with fibro get it, too, but I have no idea. I hope the drugs offer some relief.
