i'm not sure if i'm having asthma issues or if it's more of an inflammatory thing that's in the tissue around my lungs and ribs. it hurts to breathe and i keep coughing because i'm not breathing deeply... but it might just be the fibro. my doctors don't think i have costochondritis, since i don't tend to suffer from hypermobility of any joints. i do get rib inflammation from time to time, just not this badly... it's like an iron vise being tightening around my upper torso. i'll survive, it's just painful.

i'm taking today very easy. i should probably take tomorrow easy, too, but i want to see Hoven Droven and it's *free*, dammit. i'll go and enjoy the show.

last night, the pain was really bad and i got pretty short with boy. i'm sorry about that, but at the same time, it would have been nice if he'd helped me out a little--just getting my damn toothbrush out would have been a help and would have been no effort on his part, since my toothbrush was packed in the exact same spot as his toothbrush.

he's just gone to get me a soda. i'm trying caffeine in case the pain *is* my asthma. my asthma is fairly mild, generally. i have the feeling of a very heavy weight on my chest when it's bothering me and i get a bit lightheaded because breathing becomes an effort. it's nothing like my little brother's dangerous textbook case, but it's still something i have to keep an eye on, which is why i'm on accolate (which works very well against the cat allergy trigger for my asthma).

he's a good boy. he's not felt well lately, either. he does try. and i love him.

I'm sorry you're feeling badly, you are most deserving of painfree days out of all the adults I know.

Hoven Droven!?! Where?!? Though, with my luck it's near ya'll and I just can't my dad's Merc to visit. Drat and blast.

Hope you feel better and soon.

kennedy center, millennium stage. free, no tix required.

5:30 dance lesson, hoven droven takes the stage at 6pm for a 90 minute dance party. i plan to find seats somewhere, since i'm not well enough to dance.

Hmm.... tomorrow I had been planning to head out to Nokesville to a place called High Performance Motors to follow up on Punk Steve's tip as to where to find a reasonably priced Caprice. I can't put off finiding a car much longer, the parental unit will be home and then I will have no transport. I'm not sposed to be driving the Merc now, but have no other choice. *sigh* Oh well, it's not like I don't have enough to do at home that I can justify going out. Eh, I'll have to make it the next time. Though, if you're going to be in town for more than just tomorrow, I'd like to hang out with youse :)

Oh no! poor lady...
I have always wished, when confronted with people in pain, that I had something wise or clever or just downright nice enough to say that it would help. In the absence of all of those, I will merely say, I hope it gets better very soon...

I never knew costochondritis was connected to hypermobility, although of the people that I know with the former does have the latter. Interesting!

*warm fuzzies your way*

I have no idea what the chonowhatsisosmisitis thing is...but I've had my fibro flare up so bad that the muscles in my back and ribs and chest locked up and inflamed so that I could not get any lung expansion, I was passing out from lack of oxygen, wound up in ER. It truely sucked :(

I hope you get to feeling better...heck, I hope we all get to feeling better soon.

has someone made sure that you don't have pleurisy?

in any case, i hope that things ease up soon. *gentle hug*

actually, the feeling is very similar to the pericarditis i had last year (before it graduated to pericardial effusion and then cardiac tamponade), but it's not quite that bad just yet. pleurisy pain and pericardial pain are supposedly very similar. naproxen helped a little, which lets me know the pain is inflammatory in nature. i had a lot of connective tissue type pain last night, so i'm thinking it's all just the fibro-hell. if the pain is still here tomorrow, i'll call my doctor right away, though.

I suffer from a similar thing a lot. It's pretty scary because sometimes my inhaler does nothing at all and I just feel like I can't do anything to help me breathe better. I too didn't know costochondritis was associated with hypermobility--I was diagnosed with the former a long time ago but tend to forget to mention it to any doctors since then. Anyway, (((hugs))) Take care of yourself, sweetie

eeeww, not the iron vice thing. i'm so sorry.

that's been one of the worst effects of fibro/cfids for me. its turned my bad asthma days into torture. even my loosest, softest, feels like i'm not wearing one bra feels like a vice closing on my chest on most asthma days now. i never had that feeling before the cfids/fibro though, so i'm attributing it to that. i hope it goes away real soon.
