"swot" as a verb is equivalent to "cram" (for an exam).

e.g.
* "How David combined swimming and swotting"
* Stress-free swotting

"swot" as a noun is a person who swots. It's mildly pejorative.

* ...for every test, every exam, I hear them speaking on the bus, "That Stephanie is such a swot - she got 95%" and it's really hurtful.
* I was bright. I was a swot and I did very well out of it thank you very much.
* The ABC defines a victim as someone who: Lacks power: Has low self esteem; Not so strong; Perceived as different; Is a swot...
