i made those cookies known as either russian tea cakes or mexican wedding cookies...

i used the recipe in my better homes & gardens cookbook.

i might've overcooked them by a minute, but they're good... and i'm covered in confectioner's sugar...

mmm... snowballs!! (or that's what they're called in my family anyway) those are my all time favorite cookies. done right, they just melt sugary nutty goodness right in your mouth. mom's snowballs are heavenly - mine never quite turn out right.

I love Russian tea cakes.

And I don't think that it's possible to make or eat them without becoming covered in powdered sugar.

goth covered in powdered sugar...

At c5 in New Orleans, it was always possible to tell who was coming back from Cafe du Monde by the streaks and dustings of sugar on them..

So what are they, Russian or Mexican? Hee hee! I've always known them to be of the Russian persuasion. It's funny how some foods take on many nationalities.
