Jul. 5th, 2003 03:19 pmthere are a couple waterfalls that are short hikes, not *too* strenuous. we're going to go do those. by the time we get there, the heat of the day will have mostly passed. we have trail mix, powerade, and lots of water and ice in the cooler.
we had taco bell for lunch. YUM.
i need to put new batteries in the camera and find the discman bag i carry it (and the trail guide, first aid, knives, and flashlight in).
i also need to remember to put together a snakebite kit one of these days. it's really irresponsible of us to hike in the blue ridge without one. i have a knife and a mouth, though, so i can always tear strips of cloth, cut skin, and elevate limbs.
we'll have our phone on us in the car, but not while hiking. there's very little coverage where we're going, anyhow.

Date: 2003-07-05 07:55 pm (UTC)in some regions, the sour cream (and, by extension, the guacamole) is gelatin-free, but not in other areas.
the rice has chicken broth or flavoring or something.
provided the restaurant isn't using latex gloves, taco bell is one of the few safe fast food places i can eat at. it's the ONLY fast food place i can eat at in my town. there are other non-fast food places, fortunately.
taco bell's meat is the only scary stuff. since i don't eat flesh of the deceased, i'm safe.
