Last night, boy and I went over to the house of LJ ([livejournal.com profile] xiane, [livejournal.com profile] briskpepper, [livejournal.com profile] mbickers, and [livejournal.com profile] mrjustice; corey doesn't have an LJ, but he's there, too) so we could boil up some eggs.

i sat with chris in her kitchen while boy tended to the eggs in the other kitchen. i made a couple potholders while i was there, in hideous shades of pink for M.

chris was making beeswax lip balm. and it's safe for me! it's really good stuff. she'll be selling it on threeravens.net soon, i bet. the first one was clove-scented (very light) with a nice purple color. it's yummy. we thought about eating it with some marzipan.

I have to use beeswax lip balm, too (I'm allergic to petrols). And I just might have to look into getting some, if she does decide to sell it.

This isn't hard, so it's not good for keeping in pockets. She might experiment with hard balms later. :)

For something that *will* keep in your pocket, you might look for honeybee gardens tropical lip balm.

there's also a corn oil based balm called lip schtick, very lemony.

and another non-pocket-friendly would be terressentials cocoa butter lip balms. :)

personally, i'm going to encourage chris to experiment with hard lip balms once she gets her business going and can afford to branch out.

Hmm...I have not heard of a soft lip balm before.

And I use this stuff called "Un-petroleum" but it's a little hard to find.

I loooooove Un-Petroleum.

This balm stuff is actually soft and lovely and whipped, and I'm selling it as "gloss", though it leaves no colour and is more soothing than girly ;) I wouldn't carry it in my pants pocket, though, as it will melt with body heat.

I actually will be making both a harder, stick-version balm, as well as a body balm, as soon as I get a recipe down and find some decent containers for marketing. The "gloss" is selling for $3.50, and it rocks... if I say so myself ;)

It's Cory with no redundant E.

(I'm not a fan of redundant E. Em is the worst name in the world. Emma is close second, and Emily is tolerable.)

YAY FOR HIDEOUS SHADES OF PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK!
