For supper...

forbidden rice risotto
curried peas

we might add some more stuff later, but this will do for now. :)

the appointment went okay. he snipped the band slightly so that it won't compress my foot so much. i neglected to tell him that while it *looks* tight, it still slips up and down my foot very easily when i walk. oops.

he doesn't see how one metatarsal band/pad on each foot could cause the extra pain, but acknowleges that this is my body and that i have bone/muscle problems he doesn't usually see in a "young girl". he at least believes me when i tell him that i did not have the extra, different pain before i wore these things.

i see him again in a couple weeks.

he also said that my insurance is claiming he's not on their policy, even though the other doctors in the practice are. he's trying to straighten it out and says i will not have to pay anything extra for his and the insurance's screw-up. that's very nice.

if my insurance will actually cover orthoses, i'm going to have to get referred to one of the other doctors in the practice for them. pain in the ass, but i'll do it if it means my insurance will pay.

time to stir the risotto. after dinner--flyering.

these were frozen peas, organic. i typically buy those, unless i can get fresh that look good.

kalonji = nigella seeds = black onion seeds

They taste a bit like oregano and are about four times the size of a sesame seed, black, and triangular.

You should write a cookbook. You come up with all sorts of nifty creations and it's something you can do in bits & pieces (while you're sick) until it's completed.

You should!! And in the meantime, please post this to [livejournal.com profile] gothfood . . . I go through there periodically when I'm in the mood to Cook Something New (the calendar view section is really handy -- since you can see the individual titles if you go to the Calendar View and then click on "View Subjects" for an individual month -- in this case, May, you can see all the recipe titles :)

-- Andi, who actually just printed out a bunch of stuff from there recently!

I do post things to [livejournal.com profile] gothfood on occasion. i've just been too tired lately to even handle the apple-c for copying, then opening a new posting window.
