I haven't showered since Sunday night.

On Monday, I did some grocery shopping, some laundry, and a lot of resting. Yesterday, I warmed the couch. Today is shaping up the same way. I'm going to make something comforting for dinner. Something with vegetables and noodles and mayonnaise and a creamy sauce baked in the oven. Yes, fattening. I don't care. I need it. After I get that in the oven, I'm going to take a shower, I think.

I should go to Whole Foods and pick up some ginger for boy. That might help his distended belly a bit.

My parents are going to the Pace reunion in Mississippi this weekend. I'm jealous. I want to go. I want to see my relatives. I want to play in the springs in the park where the reunion is held. Boy has shown very little interest in ever going and we usually save up his vacation days for the beach with his parents. I don't really want to give up the beach. We're also taking a couple days (adding them to a weekend) to go to the fair back home (Mooreland, IN) this year, so we really can't manage Mississippi.

I think we're going to skip the annual Fourth of July party in Philly this year. I'll miss seeing everyone, but we're going to be travelling a week and a half later. Lots of travellings wears us both out these days. Maybe we'll have a grill party here. Grilling toga party. Yes. That's the ticket. Miles of voluminous swaths of cloth will confuse the mosquitoes. Indeed.

Can't you go to both even if boy just does the beach?

See, I want to show him off. The last time I went to the reunion, I got in trouble for not bringing "that fiancé of [mine]". I need to take him so he can see where my dad's family is from. I think this is important. Besides, I enjoy shocking boy with vast spreads of food and the reunion is a picnic.

It's very good, but it wouldn't be very Toni-friendly.

I dumped a bag of frozen broccoli-corn-red pepper into a large casserole dish. In retrospect, I should have added peas. I cooked three handfuls of Kroger's egg noodles, drained them, and dumped them on top. I put three big spoonfuls of mayos on the veggies/noodles, mixed it in. I should've used more. Then I made cream of onion condensed soup (one medium vidalia onion, sliced super thin, three ribs celery, sliced thinly, sauteed in three tablespoons butter over low heat til starting to go golden brown, add 3 tb flour and some salt, mix well, stir in two cups milk (or cream) and simmer over low heat, stirring, til it starts to thicken) and poured it on top, mixing well. stuck it in the oven for 30 minutes, putting bread crumbs on top at one point.

I could've added chicken-style seitan, had i had any. Canned chickenn or previously cooked chicken would work fine.
