I just picked a pot of raab. A couple stalks went to flower while I was gone over the weekend, but many were perfect for harvest today. I'm leaving the two flowering stalks for the butterflies.
Mmmm, fresh greens. And last night, I cooked some beans then prepared a casserole dish. I just turned on the oven and will stick the beans (with chicken-style veg seasoning (homemade), tomatoes, sauteed onions, and veg broth) in once it heats up. And then I'll fix the rabe. With luck, boy will do the few dishes we have so that I can cook more easily.
Tonight is flyering. I'm really sluggish, but I'm going to try to go.
The metatarsal band seems to be helping a bit, but I think it might be contributing to the hip pain I'm having. I didn't have it before and now I do.
Must remember to call/email
red_frog and see if she still wants to have tea or gaming soon.
The nasturtiums are flowering nicely. With luck, I can start sneaking them into
explodingcat's salads in a week or two. My tomato plants are over knee-high.
Sarah cut my hair this weekend. She took off a few inches of split ends. I need to henna it soon to protect it from the evil city water. I suppose I could go boil up the cloves and water now and mix it up so that the henna will be ready later tonight. I also need to boil up some rosemary tea to strip any residue from my hair prior to hennaing.
The two weeks of clouds and rain has been wreaking havoc on boy's well being and energy levels, so last night I went out and bought a full-spectrum bulb (actually, it's a plant light, but not the bulb shape). Then I realized I've gotten rid of the bendy-arm lamps I was planning on using with it and I didn't buy the normal bulb shape, because I wanted to aim the light directly at him. So the light is now in a small gargoyle pedestal lamp. He can sit it below waist level and get some relief. The lamp is meant to have a black light bulb in it, so this is pretty funny.
(It will be even funnier when I put the lamp in the living room tonight and bring along some plants that are suffering from the lack of light.)
