So, boy took his computer back after he finished lunch. I wandered the house in search of things to do... I sewed the crotch seam on my slender bloomers... thought about ironing, but didn't want to stand. watered my plants, saw that one of the morning glory seedlings (in cups) BLOOMED today... best transplant those soon... thought about gardening, making cages... got a drink, decided i'd maybe shower.

then i spotted it.

a slender, but wide box near the door. it was a little larger than the box the laptop was last shipped back in, but my hopes were up.

"boy, boy. boy! what is this box? boy! this box! what is it?"

i carried it into his office and grabbed a knife to cut the tape. "boy, it's from Airborne Express! did you sign for it?"

he looked confused and said, "yeah."

"YAY! it's my baby!"

i opened it up and sure enough. it's the laptop.

according to the arcane codes, i *think* both the lcd ribbon cable *AND* the video card were replaced.

but i have my baby!!!

this means i can sit on the couch and check email again.

YAY!

Oh! Haha... well, there's nothing (besides a brand-spanking-new computer) like getting your computerbaby back home safe and sound and fixed. Yeah. *ahem*

well, that's okay. we're buying a new ibook in may (three paycheck month + we've got our deposit back from the last place + raise and bonus + yaksmas money specifically for a computer), so we WILL be celebrating the arrival of a brandspankin'new puter soon. that's going to be explodingcat's baby, though. 12" screens are small for me and he can use the boosted processor power/memory more effectively for his music.

kinda scary, really. our g3 was bought in 99 and the *ibook* is that much more useful these days. ;)
