Apr. 26th, 2003 04:32 ami really love
explodingcat.
around 2:45am, he was thinking of going to bed, but i asked for my nightly footrub (I often forgo it when we get home late). he said, "okay" and we headed off to the living room so he could watch tv while he rubbed my feet.
he rubbed them for half an hour!!! he managed to find a spot that just felt good and relaxed my whole body and made me happy, so he kept rubbing it. :)
i'm so lucky.

Date: 2003-04-26 01:42 am (UTC)When Megan was a baby, she was fussy, and would often fight going back to sleep after a middle-of-the-night feeding. Tim figured out that if he gently stroked her temple and hummed, it would relax her and put her to sleep. I have a long, long history of insomnia, and one night he took me in his arms, gently stroked my temple, and hummed softly and deeply so it vibrated right against my ear where it was nestled against his chest. It took a little while, and I think his arm fell asleep :), but eventually it put me to sleep. Not a little thing at all, and when he's here :), I can ask him for that any time, wake him if necessary. Now that I'm weaning myself from the Ambien, I miss him even more than I already did.
I feel pretty lucky, too. :)

Tim is pretty darn cool, too. I'm glad he can lull his women to sleep. It's a useful talent.
