Tired... I really need to find my melatonin or buy some more. I'm sleeping eight hours a night, but I need a bit more and I need more restful sleep. I also need to remember to *make* myself shower before bed, so my allergies don't leave me completely stuffy-headed on waking.

Went shopping with the Stu and [livejournal.com profile] xiane yesterday. We hit Lowe's, where I spent too much money on gardening stuff (larger planters, compost/topsoil/manure 3-in-1 mix, gravel, a few sundry items, and a fragrant little thyme plant. We also hit wal-mart so I could wash my hands and grab some pseudoephedrine. I found some great pajama pants there. I picked up a pair of batman and a pair of orange Operation! pants. *giggle* I was going to go to the weird little pajama party at Asylum this afternoon, but I think I'll stay home and unpack some things. I prefer to go to Asylum when I can actually *buy* things. I can't today, so I won't go.

Boy and I mucked about the house last night, then visited the mall, where I got two t-shirts on sale at JC Penney. Came home, went for a walk (lovely and windy), came home and put VH1 on while we relaxed on the couch... had pizza bread... had popcorn... eventually went to bed.

I finished Jennifer Government last night. Still noodling about it, but I did enjoy reading it. Now I think I'll catch up on various issues of F&SF I've not yet read.

We're going to muck about the house today. I might get some container prepping done for gardening and I plan on starting the plot the small garden we'll have sometime soon.

I should get up, find my eyedrops (yay, eyedrops! I can wear my contacts again!) and put on some shoes.

The door to the shed is open. The owner's side, that is. We called Karl. He thinks he left it unlocked and the wind blew it open. He also said that Elsie, the older lady who lives across the street told him that I'm welcome to come over and chat during the day while Tom is working. Yay! :) I know that she was one of Karl's mother's best friends and they became closer in their widowhood. I imagine she can get lonely at times. She has friends who drop by *nearly* every day, but not always. And I see her son (who is probably as old as my grandparents) a couple times a week, too. I'll definitely start knocking on her door from time to time.

oh! I got a CD in the mail yesterday. WOOHOO! Now I, too, can sing about 20 naked pentacostals in a pontiac. I'll send a proper thankyou note this week. ;)

I've never grown pumpkins, though we had them in the garden when I was a child. Squash growing takes more space than I've ever had (I rent my abodes, we don't own a house yet). I do know that squash prefer rich soil, but they'll grow just about anywhere... don't fertilize unless you want *huge* squash/gourds of doom (this is a plus with pumpkins for carving, but not for pie). and if your garden is damp, when the fruit starts to appear, make sure you elevate it slightly off the ground (upside-down food tubs work well).
