well, the roads are clear.

our driveway is not.

i'm not about to shovel nearly a quarter mile, nor break through a couple feet of compacted snowplow-thrown/shoved snow/ice at the end of the driveway. we'll stay here until someone at the farm thinks to plow us out.

we're nearly out of cheese, which i can live without. heck, i SHOULD live without. nearly out of onion rolls, but boy can eat his sandwiches with bread until we can get into town. the suet feeder is empty, but the nuthatches have been stealing from the feeders, so they're all fine. and the woodpeckers can hammer into tree trunks. the brown creepers (i think) have been dancing and singing.

i'm getting a little cabin feverish and it's starting to hit harder. boy and i have been snapping at each other a bit. *sigh* hopefully things will clear up soon. if we were in town, we could walk outside and go somewhere.

I'm feeling too lazy (and too tired) to break through the foot of ice hemming the Jeep in, so I'm staying on foot for now. (Perhaps we can both get out today). Unfortunately, all my friends are driving distance away, and yesterday there was nowhere open to go.

I know what you mean about cabin fever. I walked downtown for dinner last night, not because I was out of food but because I needed to talk to someone in person who was not a cat. I thought about staying downtown, but got tired out--that time of month--and had to go home. Still, it was nice to have left for a while. And I got carded for having a beer with dinner. Had to ask the server if she was serious, as I have been carded perhaps twice since I was 16.
