I've been *really* hungry for the last few days. boy points out that I tend to eat in spurts (much the way I sleep, sometimes). I tend to have 2-3 days where I eat a lot, then 3-7 where I eat just a little. I'd prefer to eat a normal amount daily, since that would keep my metabolism a little more boosted.

My boobs hurt and I'm getting slight twinges of moodiness. The moon is a tiny crescent in the sky these evenings... So, I'm guessing my period will arrive soon. Well, it has five days to get here and scram. I hate bleeding on my birthday.

I'm glad we don't celebrate Valentine's Day. It's way too commercialized these days. I can't decide whether I'm going to celebrate Set People On Fire day this year, but it's tempting.

My vulva heart shirt arrived yesterday. I wore it into town. Yay! It makes me very happy. My camera's batteries died, so y'all can't see me in it yet. I can't find the battery charger, either.. *sigh*

Yesterday and the day before were very windy. The tumbleweed went for a roll. We haven't been able to find it. I hope it's out seeking its fortune. I hope it's happy. I hope it brings me back a t-shirt.

We finished off the Potato-Kale-Bean soup today. I made broccoli raab with currants, almonds, and onions. Very yummy. I also made fries and gravy and stuff, as I wrote earlier. And I just had some orzo salad. I also made kool-aid, as I found myself craving soda, but we're out of soda. Sometimes sweet stuff helps curb the yen for carbonation. So I let myself have some orange Kool-aid. Yum.

I've done a few loads of laundry today. I should go see if our blankies are dry yet. We once again have clean underwear (which, honestly, was done yesterday) and trousers. I also have clean tights and sweaters, which I should lay out to dry.

I sorted through LOTS of medical receipts/stuff this evening. I did some preliminary addition--I'm already over $3500 and I haven't looked at everything.

I need to bitch at AETNA again about reimbursing us for my CTS splints. *sigh* They're driving me nuts. If they don't shape up, who do I contact? State Attorney's Office? And which state? I lived in Maryland when I had this done, the procedure was done in DC, I now live in VA, and the insurance company's billing office is in PA. So confusing. I've sent them three confirmed faxes, FIVE certified/delivery receipt letters, and one uncertified. WHAT is their PROBLEM? (well, they're trying to make a profit, but one look at my record shows that's not bloody likely off a former customer like me. i cost them a SHITLOAD of money last year through no fault of my own.)

*sigh*

I started some cobea and morning glory seeds today. They're soaking now. I'm going to try to find some moonflower seeds tomorrow. And I think I'll see if IY has the heirloom seed packets out yet. I bought a hydro basil plant (they have a root ball, but are sold in plastic bags with some water...) last month. It's still alive and leafing out. I've been keeping it hydrated. I wonder if it would take root in a pot...

bought some henna yesterday. need to attack my hair soon. i bought red and mahogany... figure i can mix them to get a slightly darker red, rather than bright coppery orange. i like the brightness, but sometimes i want something darker.

been a bit more energetic lately. i really want to *run*. i know i couldn't go very far without incurring a lot of fatigue debt, but i want to do it. sadly, i still have too much nerve pain in my feet to deal with that. bleh. stupid feet.

I did a lot of dishes today. There are some more to do right now, but nothing out of control. I've never had a lockerful of mackerel, you know.

I have three wooden things I made when I was younger. One is a plaque with three pegs, with a church stenciled on. One is a hanging bulletin board (stained peach, flowers painted on, cork glued on), one is a hanging notepad holder. The first two were made in bible school over a summer. The last was made in drafting or woodworking in junior high. I think I'm going to paint them darker colors, repair the hemp rope (replace it) on two, replace one of the missing pegs, and maybe stencil in different things... in metallic paint. they're all still quite usable, my style is just not country-ish.

It's really time for the floating santa heads to be packed away for another year.

If I move somewhere I can't hang up the creepy ship painting, I wonder if I have friends who'd like to admire it for a year?

I'm going to go take my allergy pills, read a bit, and fall asleep. It's that time of morning...

I'd love to babysit the painting for a year, I have so much bare wall space in the new house I'M tempted to take up painting. (would have to be wierd abstract surreal stuff, as I suck at two dimensional art) However, I live quite a ways away, and don't know how much it would cost to send or if it could be done safely...anyway, if you don't get any nearby bites, maybe consider it?

Your starting seeds? Sheesh, I have two and a half feet of snow on the ground still and forecast for more. It's zero degrees right now according to weatherbuggy. *cries* I love morning glories and moonflowers and scarlet trumpets and all those type of plants. I'm hoping this spring (if it ever gets here) to be able to plant them on my fence and around my porches. I don't know if I have any seeds still or not, may have to buy them. Got any you want to mail? If I can find my seed album I'll post some things I have lots of, maybe we can do an exchange?

I hear you about the insurance. I hate insurance companies. Bastards. Why in the hell did this country get started with that crap anyway? Why couldn't we just keep medical bills AFFORDABLE. Sheesh.

I need to hobble off and find breakfast, and probably take a nap myself.

*sets AETNA on fire*

I must see this t-shirt of yours, too. Plus any that the tumbleweed brings back *grin*

We're going to be starting some heirloom seeds that [livejournal.com profile] jola sent for Kira soon . . . wish us luck, this is my first crack at vegetable gardening!

The "painting" is not only creepy, it's hideous. It's green and black mostly. It's a print of that spanish galleon painting that one occasionally finds in the homes of really cool old ladies. However, someone took *thick*, clear acrylic and painted over the main lines of the ship, making them look as though they're a ghost fleet from hell. I wouldn't ship it, though. If I can't find a local friend who wants to be creeped out, I'll just lean it against the wall for a year. ;)

You should definitely start your vine seeds *early* where you are, otherwise you won't see any blooms until late July. You can just put them in seed trays until May, when the frosts should be past and you can harden off and transplant outdoors. ;) You could probably wait to start in March, but I wouldn't go later.

yes, I'm severely allergic to soy, papaya, and penicillium; moderately allergic to peanuts. I'm severely allergic to natural rubber latex (hevea brasiliensis), which comes into play with food preparation (gloves).

wow..there is someone else. lol
i have allergies to eggs, dairy, beef, corn, pork, rice, wheat, oats, fish, peanuts, most all beans, and fresh fruit. the first 4 listed are the most severe, even though i have to avioid all of what's listed. i'm also allergic to penicilliun, among other drugs. bleh.. it's touch trying to avoid all that. i've been searching for a good livejournal community on the topic, but have yet to find one. =(

yes, it's quiet. I took it over when the previous owner/creator was going to delete it.

the penicillium is an issue with certain cheeses. brie, stilton, and bleu often have penicillium cultures added. i've never actually had penicillin (antibiotic) because my mom is severely allergic to it. she couldn't touch it, so the doc didn't prescribe it to a kid who was often sick and frequently vomited back up antibiotics.

i'm vegetarian, by the way. ;) so no animal flesh for me.

there are other things i can't have, but those are related to my respiratory/skin allergies--chamomile, echinacea, hibiscus, rose hips, etc.

Only problem is finding a place to put them that my cats won't get into them :) If I can find something to sit them on I may have a place in the front room where I have my computer and the birds, the cats don't come in here and there is good afternoon light. I just have to come up with the money and find a place to buy the stuff I need. Man are we broke.

The painting sounds cool actually, I could scare my husband with it. LOL....ah well, I guess I'll just paint some scary ass stuff of my own. :)
