dad and i drove to goshen today. well, first we went to Lagrange. Uncle Dan and Aunt Obie were there in Grandma's room at the nursing home. we chatted for a bit, dan and obera left after a half hour or so. dad and i stayed with grandma until we had to leave to pick up her car.

driving to goshen through the middle of amish country always brings me back to home. sure, i grew up in central indiana, but my maternal grandpa's family was amish. my first lullaby was in german. it's a beautiful area, but is quickly becoming heavily developed.

we got to the ford garage, grabbed grandma's car (it was in for repairs and diagnostics). dad tossed me the keys. he headed to pick up some stuff he needed and i went to goodwill.

parking in a goodwill parking lot while driving a spotless 97 crown vic (it's sage green and very noticeable) was quite an experience. everyone stared at me. that's what i get for driving an old lady car 50 years before my time. and, to think, grandma just gave me her 95 buick regal (it has 20k miles on it...)... yes, i'm spoiled... i'm very appreciative, though. i hope that i can someday give back to my parents all that they've given me. all i can really give grandma is love and companionship. i write her letters since i live so far away, but i know she gets lonely.

ah, well. i need to go see great-grandma before she climbs in bed. i also need to figure out what time buffy is on here. it's either 7 or 8... indiana time is so screwy.

Buffy is on 8 Indiana time, on Channel 23 if you don't have cable and channel 10 if you have comcast. I have no idea what channel on Time warner.

that would work if we got indy stations here. however, i'm currently in northern indiana, where time and tv are still too futuristic and high-tech. we use hourglasses to tell time (when it's cloudy, that is. otherwise, we all have sundials or just stare at the sun--don't mind grandpa's burned out eyesockets). the tv is watchable for five minutes at a time, which costs two hours of mule-powered generator time.

;)

anyhow, both the south bend and fort wayne affiliates are too weak to reach this area. i'll have to wait til next week, when i go home and see it on tape. cable? in the boonies? you must be joking. dad has a mini-dish, but it doesn't receive network stations...

hahaha

Beyond twisted, even ;)

"You've got the pimp car, you've got the pimp car!!"

Perfect for driving around the villain from this week's episode . . .
