so...

while i traditionally refuse to go to the mall on black friday, today i needed to get out of the house and it was just too cold for boy to walk in downtown philly. we typically do chinatown and south street on this day, but he wanted to stay indoors.

so we hit moorestown mall first... at boscov's, i got some big, chunky slippers *(for half-off) which will make walking on the hardwood floors far less painful. we don't wear shoes in the house at home. in my previous apartment, we had carpet, so i didn't need slippers. i have no clue where i put them all, but i had no big cushy ones, anyhow. so now i have some and my feet seem to be happy right now.

i also bought a charcoal shaker-knit sweater for ten bucks in the men's section. we almost bought boy a gorgeous variegated green sweater, but he was being blah about spending anything, so we skipped it.

we wandered around a bit, bought some bertie bott's beans and sour blueberry jelly laces... i kept handing boy disgusting flavors while we were walking. he was cracking up. we then fled for barnes & noble... flipped through the CDs, wandered through the books, then escaped that crowd for one that was even worse--cherry hill mall.

aaaaack. i found a cotton gauze scoop neck shirt on the clearance rack at hot topic... i thought it was 12 bucks, but it was six. yay! it will make a nice corset liner. we went in a couple more stores (i wanted to stop in MAC), but soon fled. i really, really hate Macy's. we parked outside of it. the damn store is a maze and it's even worse during the holidays, because they make the labyrinth WORSE to make one stop and look *and* there are crowds. tom and i decided they pay people to stand in your way in hopes you'll get distracted and buy something. someone lost zir bonus when i managed to get from the parking lot doors to the mall in less than five minutes (barely).

after that evil place, we stopped in at TJ Maxx... boy has discovered that i won't buy anything if he tells me it makes me look pregnant. so he does that now... with shoes. it didn't work as well for those, but i didn't find any walking boots.

took the back roads back to marlton/moorestown... went to zagara's, bought seitan and angostura worcestershire sauce (soy-free, vegetarian)... went to jo-ann's, where we picked up a yard of no-pill black fleece (to make winter hats), leather needles, and a stained glass kit of a hummingbird for my MiL's birthday. we'll make that later tonight. went to fresh fields for asparagus, sourdough, smokehouse almond crackers, bbq sauce, and kale... then came home.

after a dinner of bbq'd seitan, leftover stuffing/dressing and gravy, bread, and asparagus with an aioli-eggplant/pepper sauce, we settled down on the couch and watched Cirque du Soleil's Quidam on Bravo. i had strawberry ice cream... we poked the cat... now, my FiL and boy are watching Iron Chef. my carpal tunnel is acting up from typing all this on a traditional keyboard, so i'm gonna wrap this up.
