well, this year certainly paled in comparison to last year.

but i saw several pretty leonids, a couple non-leonids, lots of satellites (including one which flirted with Sirius), and a flare off the front antenna of iridium 30 a few minutes ago.

all in all, a nice night. i became quite well acquainted with gemini and leo, which was nice. jupiter, saturn, mars, and venus all made my evening (morning, really) enjoyable. the near-full moon was gorgeous, even if it did obscure my view.

oh, and i saw one freakin' huge bat about 15 minutes ago.

roosters *wail*. i discovered this today.

i saw a taxi drive by with its light on around 5:15 am. i wonder what the driver would do if i HAILED zir?

my toes are frozen. i'm going to take down my hair, remove my boots, and slowly undress. i might toss my handwarmers into socks and wear 'em to bed. my feet are *really* cold.

i'm very tempted to stay up and write today, so i don't mess up my sleep schedule all to hell. something tells me i need sleep, though. i need to hibernate now that i've managed to lower my body temperature to about 2 kelvin.

first, though, i'm going to go see if i can see venus after the sun rises. ;)

We went out and checked it out. We each saw three.. not the same three ones. Had some mulled cider after to warm up. Nice morning, but not a huge show when we looked.
