The sun returned!
Jan. 25th, 2010 07:21 pmToday was awesome. I started out a little hung over from my current course of nightly knock-you-on-your-ass antihistamine (hydroxyzine, my eczema's out of control again). By noon, I was able to pack a lunch for Ronan and grab our backpack and head out the door. He rode his bike to the Corner, where I had coffee while he ate his lunch. Then he rode about halfway downtown before we decided to hop on a bus downtown. We transferred to the 3 bus (I nearly sat in a wet seat. I don't expect drunk piss on nice days when they don't need to ride the bus to stay warm.) and enjoyed the leisurely ride through Hogwaller and Belmont, deciding to alight at Belmont Park.
At the park, Ronan rode his bike and played on the play structure a bit. The park is on a hilltop and has gently swooping wide curves on the crisscrossing/looping sidewalks up and down. It's perfect for bikes, skateboards, and scooters. We called a friend who lived nearby, but when she didn't show up, we just headed over. Their basement had flooded, so we let the toddlers hang out while A & I laughed at her high school notes and projects.
I dragged Ronan away just before five. He wasn't happy, but we needed to catch a bus before dark. We made it up the hill to the bus stop and waited for the (very late) bus while he ate some snackies and became happier. Rode the bus home, rode his bike home from the stop, and played outside for a bit as the sun went down.
Such an awesome day. It's a very typical day for us, though we don't always get to see other toddler friends. That was just luck.
It's absolutely sodden out. The streets stayed fairly wet today. We had rain all weekend and a massive storm last night. I woke up just after two am to the power flickering as a transformer did that creepy green flashing thing and crazy loud roaring hum. The power couldn't decide what to do, but finally stayed on. I couldn't figure out where kiddo put the flash lights, so tonight I need to round them up and put them away.
