Home again, home again, jiggity jig
Nov. 30th, 2009 08:10 pmTwo things Tom forgot to do on our way out the door the Friday before last:
run the garbage disposal
turn on the dishwasher
Well, as soon as we got home, I just turned on the dishwasher without opening it. Normal cycle with super-heat button pressed. The compost bucket's in there and, well, I don't want to even think about it. We'll add soap and run it again in a bit.
The disposal . . . well, we also forgot to turn the heat down (so the thermostat was set for 67F).
Stuff was creeping up out into the sink. No, I didn't take a picture. I might hand the manbeast some bleach, though.
Today's drive was rough. Rain, rain, rain. Volume. Then we hit traffic a few miles north of DC. And sat in traffic until we passed Manassas. We were in the DC metro area for 2.5 hours. (This included a stop at Trader Joe's for dinner, since we weren't going to make it home by 5:30 as originally planned.)
I opted to skip the northern stretch of 29 and cut down near Warrenton, instead.
Now . . . grocery shopping.
