Something just tweaked in my brain today and I had to do something different. I have lived in my Old Navy jeans or my JCP capris since October (and I didn't buy the capris until January or February), generally paired with a long-sleeve tshirt and a jacket. I rarely wear anything else. I sometimes pull on one of my Indian dresses, but that's it. I've dressed extremely casually, which isn't really typical for me, but it's all I've been able to do.

Today, the velvet maternity dress came out, along with stripey OTK socks and my mary janes. My hair got pinned up in a braided bun. No make-up, I just had to reclaim my style or something. It's raining, so I wore my cloak at the farmer's market. And I was happy.

I'll change out of this soon. As soon as boy is done taping, I'll be helping him paint the trim. We're FINALLY almost finished. We've had that room torn apart for over a month now.

After the painting is done, I'm celebrating by going to the MAC counter at Belk and buying a new bottle of Viva Glam nail polish. And then I shall paint my toenails. I'm also going to henna my hair tonight. These honey wheat roots are just a little too drab for me. And if I'm really ambitious, I might trim my hair. My ends are horrifically scraggly and knotty and full of woe.

WoooooHAH!

The painting is finally done! I haven't put up the border yet, but that will be relatively painless, compared to the trimwork. (yes, yes, famous last words. I know the room isn't level, but that doesn't mean the bottom of the border won't be 36" from the floor, dammit.)

Earlier today:

Someone wore his good wool socks to paint in. Someone just had fun cleaning one of his good wool socks.

Looks like it'll rain all day tomorrow, too. Something tells me the grass is going to keep on growing.
