contractors in my bathroom
Oct. 18th, 2006 11:28 amSo, we finally got sick of the leaky pipes and fixtures in the bathroom and called in the repair guys. Our plumber recommended a general do-it-all guy that he enjoys working with. They definitely have a great rapport. We're going to have some white tile in the bathroom, since seafoam green isn't exactly sold anymore. I went to Virginia tile to buy some tile yesterday. Our options were wait two weeks (after they've ripped out my plumbing) for complementary non-white tile, or take white tile. I opted for white tile.
They like my dog. They threaten to break things when the fixing is going too well. ;)
Jericho has a crush on the plumber. It's adorable.
It's not the cheapest repair job in the world, but we have savings for situations like this. I always have a bit of irritation and pride when house repairs are done. First off, I'd rather spend that money on something I WANT, like cabinets that aren't held together by 50 years of paint. On the other hand, we're preventing the house from developing major structural problems or mold problems. And that's a good thing. I still hate my kitchen, though. :( If we were a two-income household, there wouldn't be any problem in purchasing new cabinets. We are not, however, and cannot be while I'm ill.
So, not having a shower at my disposal during allergy season means I got to work out last night. I was in the pool doing aquatherapy for about half an hour. I also swam a lap. Okay, I'm accustomed to my normal hypermobility. Pregnancy is so weird. I can FEEL range of motion that just shouldn't be there. I was struggling with exercises I've done for two+ years. I think my shoulders and hips are all just gonna fall out of socket. Boom, boom, boom.
So, pool and shower. I'll do the same tonight. Maybe I'll do some recumbent cycling to strengthen the muscles around my hips a bit.
