fortification update
May. 23rd, 2006 09:22 pmSo, Sunday's hike to Pocosin Mission was a success in more ways than one. I got pictures of some fun plants. Jerry ADORED the woods, as always. And while I did appear to have angered the Violently Windy Pioneer Spirits when I bent to take a closer look at a hewn post, I was able to do the entire hike without one instance of breathlessness or poundy heart. Sure, I was breathing heavily, but I had no problems catching and keeping my breath. Today, I walked home from Fry Spring Station and handled both ridgetop ascents on the way home with nary a problem.
Very freakin' cool. I'd been thinking I was horribly deconditioned. Turns out it really was anemia. Sure, I'm not in top physical shape, but I'm much better off than I thought. I might even be able to swim more than two lengths now.
In other news, I'm spending my evening groaning on the floor. My body is wholeheartedly expelling as much tissue and blood as it possibly can in an effort to rid me of the extra iron. Stupid uterus.
My veins hurt. Stupid holes. Stupid histamine.
