i feel like poop.
Apr. 15th, 2006 11:47 pmWe planned to do a 2.5 mile hike today to Lewis Spring Falls so that we wouldn't be too worn out for tonight.
I parked at the wrong spot and we opted for a 3.4 mile hike to Big Rocks Falls from Milam Gap. I chose the wrong direction on the AT (I slept *really* poorly last night) and after 1.1 miles, we realized that we were going the wrong direction. We decided to continue on to Lewis Falls (by now about 1.3 miles away)
While the roughty three and a half miles we did on the AT (and the half mile we did on the fire road connecting the two trails) were really easy, the 0.6 mile (1.2 miles round trip) Lewis Spring Trail was rocky, steepsteepsteep, and very twisty.
The falls were beautiful, but after the unexpected five miles of hiking (twice as far as planned), there is no way I can go to the Dawning tonight to see Ego Likeness.
I am really bummed. If I go, though, I'll end up in bed for the next few days and my asthma will be acting up. Since I can *only* control my asthma with oral meds and environment (no inhalers), it would be stupid of me to go to the club.
Ah, well. I'll miss seeing one of my favorite bands, but the mountains were amazing today. I'll take a shower and think about which pictures I want to share.
