curry noodles
May. 4th, 2004 09:44 pmWe saw that the Iron Chef theme ingredient was curry powder tonight.
I couldn't take it. I had to go eat something.
I put a pot of water on to boil. I ransacked my pantry for rice thread, but ended up with bean thread.
Meanwhile, I put some oil in a small skillet. I added a tiny bit of crushed red pepper, about 1/4 cup diced onion, and about half a cup of chopped mushrooms (mix of oyster, crimini, shiitake). Tossed that around a bit, added some minced garlic and minced ginger and a buttload of curry powder. tossed it some more, added some more oil, added about 1/3 cup of frozen peas and carrots... salt and pepper. the water in the pot hit a boil, so i added a handful of bean thread (about 1/2-3/4 cup cooked) and set the timer. to the skillet, i added a bit of sesame oil.
when the noodles are done, drain and rinse. then mixed the noodles with half the curry mixture. YUM!
