Mar. 7th, 2004 01:54 pmThe japanese magnolia at the side of the house (in the neighbor's yard, technically) is starting to bloom. The buds have burst up out of the branches. Soon, it will be quite perfumey around here.
The daffodils by the little house bloomed. A few tulips are pushing through the mulch under the maple. A container in which I planted a butteryfly flower last year apparently had a couple tulip bulbs in it--they're quite sizeable now. There are purple crocuses in the neighbors yards and I see crocus shoots in my yard. There are more daffodils pushing up here and there. And something's coming alive along the other side fence--not sure what grew there last year. Speedwell and ground ivy and other mints are all blooming and make lovely scents when I walk in the yard.
It's too soon for spring, but it's quite lovely.
