We went hiking yesterday. I actually felt great. I wasn't super tired and only got out of breath at the end. Sure, I was in standard fibro pain mode, but that's not anything special. We hiked the White Rock Falls Trail. I clambered up the waterfall, though I didn't climb up and over it like Jen did. We stayed there for awhile and ate sandwiches and other stuff we'd carried in. We climbed a fair bit, took pictures, adored doggies who came by, and just relaxed. On the way back, we took a shortcut up a natural rock ladder in a crevice in the cliffs.

We then hit 20 minute cliffs for a little while before we hiked up to Catoctin Overlook (nowhere near the Catoctins, but oh well). I realized it did not, in fact, face west, but more WNW. Since the sun is setting more WSW these days, we headed back south on the parkway to find an overlook more westerly facing. we settled for Rock Point (3115ft) overlook, where we watched the sunset and sparkly airplanes and waited for Vega and Deneb and Altair and Venus to show themselves. Then we headed down the mountain for some barbecue. Okay, everyone else had barbecue. I bought chips and sprouted gingerbread from Iggy Pop. He was wearing his rollerblades today.

My knee started bothering me at the Pig. My right knee sometimes really *hurts* when I walk, especially up steps or when I'm standing up from sitting down. It's very rare, but when it happens, it's mean and horrible. It usually doesn't last more than a night, but I guess going up and down the stairs at the Dawning made it more upset than usual. It still hurts today. :(

The Dawning was fun. I realized on the way to the Rose (for dinner) that I'd forgotten my camera. I didn't worry too much until I saw the cuteness that was Amelia walk in. O_O She was PINK from head to toe! She came over to where we were eating (mmmm, sushi) and let us admire her before she headed downstairs.

Atomic Box was great. I found a chair and played with zombies while chatting with [livejournal.com profile] xiane. Tim, Jen, and Tom all watched the show. It was a good turnout, but I was super super tired, so we left after the show, around 1am.

So... now my knee hurts. I'm not dressed for hiking... and chad hasn't let me know when he expects to do pictures at the mill. i'm not looking forward to the trek out there. in my experience, when my *joints* hurt, one generally wants to leave them alone so as to not provoke further damage.

WNRN time!

It's almost time for [livejournal.com profile] subshock, [livejournal.com profile] xiane's show on WNRN. Those of you who aren' t local can attempt to stream it (windows media player, cd quality streaming).

After Subculture Shock, you can catch [livejournal.com profile] audiorapture's nifty electronica show, [livejournal.com profile] wnrn_download!
